To celebrate this milestone occasion we're doing what we usually do - traveling! This time to the very romantic city of Paris, France as well as to our favorite european city - Rome.

This, my very first blog, is to document for ourselves, friends, and family the highlights of our trip. Expect lots of pictures of food, monuments, food, churches, museums; oh, and food.

Bella Giornata!

We have visited Rome twice in February, including this time, and the weather has been wonderful each time.

Today it was in the 50's and mostly sunny.  We have no specific plans for our stay here, which we're finding to be the way to go.  It's much more relaxing not having to be somewhere at a specific time for a tour or museum reservations.  Although today we did have a mission - to go to Gusto - a little kitchen type shop to look for gifts and then have lunch in the attached restaurant, which we accomplished.  Lunch was a  light and yummy steak tenderloin salad that we enjoyed outside.

Secretly, my plan was to do a little more shopping in the area around via Condotti.  Instead, we walked up the Spanish Steps and found our way to the beautiful Borghese gardens.  It was a perfect Valentine's Day!

Here are some shots of the day.

Yawn...another old Parliament building

On the way home we took a peak at this beautiful courtyard

Amazing!
I've been playing around with the format of this blog.  I can't seem to line up two pictures side by side.  I also thought the last Rome background made it hard to read the text so I enlarged the text and changed the picture.  Not sure if that helped or not but I'll keep playing with it as I have time.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's adventures.  You won't believe it!
